The mission for court report central is to provide an outpatient treatment program for individuals who are applying for bail in the court system, or individuals on bail, awaiting sentence and requiring therapeutic intervention. These individuals will require intervention for alcohol or substance use, gambling addiction, mental health problems and these often occur against a background of trauma, complex trauma and attachment problems emerging in their developmental years. These individuals often find themselves caught in the downward spiral of substance/alcohol abuse or gambling addiction, and they require intensive intervention to help them extricate themselves from this downward spiral.
Individuals can seek a report to be used for a bail application from psychologists at Court Report Central and as a component of this bail report, they can then opt to apply for inclusion in the treatment program. Fees for the court report and the entry fee for the treatment program must be paid separately. Individuals already on bail can apply for inclusion in the program. All reports prepared for a bail application will be accompanied by an outline of the program and a treatment plan. However, a further comprehensive Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) assessment will be completed once the individual starts this program, and this will detail the specific treatment the individual will require in the six-month program. Individuals already on bail but awaiting sentencing will undergo a comprehensive assessment when applying for inclusion in the program. Individuals who are on replacement therapy in custody (such as Methadone, Suboxone/Subutex or Buvidal depot) can still apply for inclusion in the treatment program. Court Report Central is not a therapeutic community-oriented program. Similarly, individuals with a history of violence/violent offences will not be excluded from the program.
