The mission for court report central is to provide an outpatient treatment program for Individuals who are applying for bail in the court system, or individuals on bail, awaiting Sentence and requiring therapeutic intervention. These individuals will require Intervention for alcohol or substance use, gambling addiction, mental health problems And these often occur against a background of trauma, complex trauma and attachment Problems emerging in their developmental years. These individuals often find themselves caught in the downward spiral of substance/alcohol abuse or gambling addiction, and they require intensive intervention to help them extricate themselves from this downward spiral.
Individuals can seek an assessment/report to be used for a bail application from psychologists at Court Report Central and as a component of this bail report, they can then opt to apply for inclusion in the treatment program. Fees for the Court report and the entry fee for the treatment program must be paid separately. Individuals already on bail can apply for inclusion in the program.

The following eligibility criteria must be met before an individual can access the treatment program –
The individual must have a stable home address, as they will be bailed to this address if they are granted bail.
They must be eligible for Medicare to access the Medicare rebate, as there will be further costs to treatment sessions. Please note the treatment sessions, including group therapy and psychoeducation sessions are not covered by the fee for entry into the program.
Individuals will be required to have a reasonable ability to speak and comprehend English. This is due to the fact that the cost of interpreter services would be prohibitive for ongoing treatment.

1. This is an outpatient program that may satisfy bail conditions and will accept people who were on replacement therapy such as buprenorphine, or with a history of violence, or with a history of psychiatric diagnosis.
2. The program has been designed to address the underlying problems which frequently occur with addiction. These are developmental trauma and/or PTSD, anger management problems, and history of substance abuse or alcohol abuse, and/or gambling addiction.
The CRC program offers assistance for many mental health difficulties, but the program tends to centre around certain difficulties, as follows –
Many individuals attempting to secure bail have alcohol/drug problems, with very little understanding of why these problems have developed; whether this be due to underlying complex trauma from childhood abuse, underlying neurodevelopmental problems such as undiagnosed ADHD, which is highly correlated with psychostimulant drug use, or underlying mental health issues which has never been appropriately addressed or in some instances diagnosed.
This program is frequently delivered following the substance abuse program, because these two problems are typically comorbid with each other. The difficulty is that the timing of this program needs to be carefully considered. If trauma is discussed too early in recovery from active addiction, it invariably results in a relapse. This is a highly structured program which examines the dynamics of trauma but also how this has affected the attachment process….
This is also a structured program and again this is often linked to the first two programs, because anger is frequently comorbid with trauma and alsobecause it often occurs in combination with certain substances such as Crystal Methylamphetamine. The program anticipates that some individuals will present with a combination of all three problems, in addition to underlying psychiatric issues such as substance induced psychosis.
